Meetings: Normally the first Wednesday of each month, 8:30 - 10:00 am, United Way Building.

Program.

Julie Davis - Developmental Assets.

Healthy Communities, Healthy Youth Initiative - 40 Developmental Assets (Search Institute, Minneapolis, Mn). 20 External Assets (e.g. Family support, community values youth, time at home …) and 20 Internal Assets (e.g. Homework, caring, resistance skills …). Call Julie (735-0561) for a complete list. Also see www.search-institute.org for more details such as "150 ways to show kids you care".

The "Power of Developmental Assets" chart shows their influence on social behaviors such as Illicit Drug Use - 1% for those with 31 or more assets and 42% for those with 10 or less assets!

Business.

• April meeting minutes approved by all.
• Treasurer's Report: Beginning balance - $4018.89. Income - $50.00 (Member renewals). Expenses - $500 (Citizens for Public Transportation). Ending balance - $3568.89.

General Business.

• Next month's meeting will include Officer elections. This will be the last meeting until September.
• June's program will be "Families that Work" by Lynn Wicks.
