1999 HUMAN SERVICES COALTION GOALS & PROJECT IDEAS
- Update and revise the 1992 Human Services Coalition pamphlet. Get cost estimate and format and content information finalized. Uses: membership recruitment and community education.
- Make a trip to Olympia to lobby legislators on behalf of the Human Services Coalition before the end of April.
- Form links with other organizations that have long term goals that are consistent with HSC’s mission. Actively seek out opportunities to co-sponsor meaningful events with these organizations rather than ‘inventing’ our own event.
- Recognize what other organizations are doing in our community and seek ways to support them.
- Design a card or folded tent card that possibly states the HSC mission and a line saying ‘We are a participating Human Services Coalition Member. This card could be used at events like Family-A-Fair for organizations to place on the table at their booth.
- Create a banner with our mission and name that could also be used at events like Family-A-Fair, or for a speaker/organization in the community that is addressing a HSC concern.
- Place our meeting notices in the Tri-City Herald every month.
- Approach the Regional Youth Service Corp and inquire if they would be willing to work with us by lending a volunteer to be responsible for such things as meeting notices to the newspaper, working on pamphlet, etc. In lieu of payment we could make a donation to RYSC such one scholarship per year or a flat donation amount.
Treasurers Report: Previous balance - $3882.88, Income - $25.00, Expenses - $239.34. New Balance - $3668.54. $200.00 was provided to the RYSC hosted teen parenting program at TRITECH.
January 6, 1999 Minutes were approved by all.
9:50 am - adjourned.
