The Human Services Coalition normally meets the first Wednesday of each month in the United Way Building (401 N. Young, Kennewick). The meetings run from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. Our mission statement:

 

The Human Services Coalition advocates for a community responsive to the human needs of health, safety and justice.


What a mess! After a severe computer crash, I had to rebuild all my computer files. I tried a new fax software that turned out to be a disaster. Hopefully I'll get back on track this month.

Relay for Life

American Cancer Society

May 29 & 30, 1998

 

Join our community’s 24-hour slumber party and help fight cancer. This year’s goal is to recruit 75 teams and raise $73,000. Teams from businesses, organizations – or families and friends can participate. Call the ACS at 783-5108 and sign up!


WATA - Washington Assistive Technology Alliance and Easter Seals of Washington. Caregivers for the disabled need to check out these great resources. I visited their lab last week in Spokane. Their number is 800 214-8731 or visit the TCFN Disabilities site at:

Lara Bartol is moving to Salt Lake City at the end of June. Sally Butler will take over as HSC Chair.

The meeting was called to order by Lara Bartol at 9:00am.

 

February 4, 1998 minutes were approved by all.

 

Treasurer’s Report : Beginning Balance - $3482.61; Income - $25.00; Balance - $3507.61.

 

Old Business: April/May schedules have been changed. April 1 - Dispute Resolution, May 6 - State Legislator update.

 

New Business: Moved and seconded that the HRC provide scholarships for Don't Quit. $10.00 over the next year up to $750.00. Approved by all.
